“The bowls are really powdery, and the trees get really deep,” says Missoula local, Michael Gregory.

Snowbowl reports 16 inches of fallen snow over the weekend, and 32 inches in the last seven days combined.

Mountain manager Pat McKay says that it has been tough keeping up with the grooming since they haven’t had a break in snowfall for eight days.

“We can’t groom the runs during the day so we just have to work extra hours into the night. We know it’s worth it.”

Guest numbers average five to eight hundred on a given day, but last Thursday the mountain reported nearly 1,400 skiers and snowboarders.

The roads are well maintained, and guests who do not want to make the drive up Grant Creek Road can catch the bus that picks skiers and boarders up at the town pump at the bottom of the hill.

The bus runs Saturdays and Sundays, leaving at 8:45 pm, and returning at 4:15.
