LAKESIDE, Mont. -

As ski season comes to a close in the Flathead, folks at Blacktail Mountain in Lakeside say they're pleased with how their season is wrapping up. Owner Steve Spencer tells NBC Montana while they don't reveal their visitor numbers, he can confidentially say Blacktail has had yet another successful season.

While many folks consider Blacktail a local's ski hill, Spencer said he's seen a growing number of Canadians visiting the slopes as well. Season pass sales were up 5 percent, and are already showing high numbers for the 2013-2014 winter season.

"The numbers have been up, it's going to be another record year for us," said Spencer. "So we're real pleased with that. It hasn't been a bad snow year but we haven't been skiing the powder we have been the last couple of years. We've had just enough snow all winter. We had 18 inches just this last week."

Blacktail will continue normal operating hours, Wednesday-Sunday, until April 7th. After that, the mountain will look at staying open on weekends only. On the Big Mountain, Whitefish Mountain Resort will shut down their lifts for good on April 7th.
