Former Montana U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg is joining a Washington, D.C.-based public-strategy firm as a co-chairman with several other former congressmen.
Mercury/Clark & Weinstock describes itself as a bipartisan government-relations firm that specializes in crisis communications, polling, issue ads and strategic communications.
The Center for Responsive Politics says the firm has lobbied for companies and associations in a wide range of industries from airlines to oil and gas to environmentalists.
The firm also employs former Republican congressmen Vin Weber of Minnesota, Jim Talent of Missouri and former Democratic Rep. Max Sandlin. Former California Assembly Fabian Nunez and Former Bronx Borough President Fernando Ferrer also are with the firm.
Rehberg tells Lee Newspapers of Montana he joined the firm because he wants to stay involved in issues he cares about.
