Park County has experienced an extraordinary fire season that has tested our fire service and law enforcement agencies to new limits. Our ability to respond safely and effectively stems directly from our training, personnel and equipment. Towards the end of the season, we will review how well our plans and training served us as part of a continuous process of evaluation and improvement.
While we make plans and train for big fires; they are seldom the same as the real thing. To better prepare for the next fire season, we critically review our performance, adjust our plans, and update our training accordingly. This improvement cycle ensures that we learn from our weaknesses and provides the means to turn them into effective tools and tactics.
We would appreciate your help by sharing your first hand experience with the emergency response to the fires this year; how were we successful and what could we have done differently from your perspective? We are looking for Constructive Criticism. Your feedback will be an important part of our after action review that will ultimately help us better serve you.
We are soliciting public input for thirty days. Please send your comments and contact information to my office by any of the means below. We appreciate your support in our effort to provide the best emergency services to Park County.
Thank you.
