WHITEFISH, Mont. -

Friends and family of fallen Montana law officers will hike in their honor this Saturday, and they’re looking for help. The annual Hike for Heroes kicks off on July 14 at Whitefish Mountain Resort.

Folks can join in for a minimum donation of $25. All that money will go to Montana C.O.P.S., a group that helps rebuild lives of family and coworkers of fallen officers.

“We’ve got a tough job to do out here, and sometimes we pay that ultimate price,” said Trooper John Underwood. “It’s nice to have some fellow support out there.”

Registration will be available at the Base Lodge starting at 8:00 a.m. and will continue on until Noon. Anyone with questions can call Lacy Schneider at 871-5705.
