KALISPELL, Mont. -

On Monday, Flathead City-County Health Department officials reported three new cases of whooping cough in the Flathead Valley. According to officials, two new cases were confirmed at Whitefish Christian Academy, and one new case was confirmed at Whitefish Middle School.

Staff say the new cases bring the total to 47 cases confirmed since October 1. Health officials say vaccinations are one of the best ways to prevent the spread of whooping cough in the future.
