MISSOULA, Mont. -

A Missoula man who killed his best friend when he drove drunk and crashed has been sentenced to 20 years in prison with 15 years suspended.

The Missoulian reports (http://bit.ly/12uwGSc ) that 22-year-old Marcus Sickles was sentenced Friday in Missoula County District Court.

Twenty-two-year-old Derek Ross Nelson died July 1 when Sickles lost control of his truck on Interstate 90 near Frenchtown and rolled.

Sickles was ejected and treated at a local hospital. Court documents say he had a blood alcohol content of 0.287, more than three times the legal driving limit.

Sickles apologized to Nelson's family and had to wipe away tears while speaking about the friend he had known since fifth grade.
