Missoula man charged with raping 6-year-old
A 57-year-old Missoula man has been arrested on suspicion of having sexual contact with a 6-year-old girl.
Danny Wayne Johnston is accused of sexual intercourse without consent.
Bail is set at $200,000.
Johnston appeared in Missoula Justice Court Thursday.
The girl's mother went to the Missoula County sheriff's office in September saying her daughter acted strangely after being in the same house as Johnston. Court records said the girl didn't want to talk about what happened because she was afraid her mother would be mad at her and Johnston would get in trouble. She eventually told sexual assault counselors that Johnston had assaulted her.
Prosecutors say Johnston told detectives it was the girl who exhibited sexually aggressive behavior.
Johnston is on probation for felony DUI, and has several DUI convictions in Montana and other states.
He also has a history of felony assault.
