Missoula Rural Fire will have extra patrol over the holiday.

Crews are concerned about ripe fire conditions.

You can't set off fireworks in city limits.

They are legal on private property in the county.

But even then, setting them off, carries responsibility.

"If we're called or some other fire jurisdiction is called to suppress that, " said Missoula Rural Assistant Fire Chief Brent L. Christopherson, " and we can attribute it to fireworks, then you may be liable for costs."

Christopherson said mixing fireworks in a cocktail is illegal.
