Missoula County Commissioners decided not to include a gas tax on the November ballot.
The Board of Commissioners sent a letter to Missoula City Council members yesterday.
The letter states that the two cent gas tax would help to fix city problems while deepening the divide with the county's rural areas.
The city council hoped to use the tax revenues to help repair missoula sidewalks.
