Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman announced today that the Sheriff’s Office is looking for David Lee Shubert, who is a reported missing person. It was reported that Shubert was relocating to Montana from Wyoming.

Shubert was last heard from nearly 3 weeks ago when he told people that he intended to go to the area of Painted Rocks Lake, possibly the Quartz Creek area and pick mushrooms.

Sheriff Hoffman states that David Shubert is a white adult male, 43 years old, 5’10” tall, about 185#, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He has no teeth and does not wear dentures. He has tattoos on his arms, legs, back and stomach. Shubert’s photo shows him clean shaven, but he may have a beard now.

Shubert is reported to be somewhat experienced in wilderness travel and is comfortable in the forest. Shubert is reported to be driving an older Chevrolet S10 or GMC Sonoma pickup truck, blue in color, with a black topper, that is too long for the bed of the truck and extends beyond the tailgate about 2 feet. The vehicle may have an unknown Wyoming license plate.
