A 36-year-old man has pleaded guilty to punching a 10-year-old boy who was trying to keep the man from attacking his mother.
The Billings Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/PpAssQ ) a plea agreement calls for prosecutors to recommend a three-year deferred sentence when Thomas Joseph Mascarena is sentenced on Jan. 7.
Mascarena pleaded guilty Thursday to felony assault on a minor and misdemeanor partner or family member assault.
He was charged for a fight on Jan. 22 in which a woman said Mascarena forced his way into her house, pushed and hit her and then punched her son when the boy grabbed Mascarena's jacket to pull him away
