Police in Sandpoint are investigating a confrontation that left one man dead and another with a gunshot wound to his arm
Police Chief Corey Coon says officers received a report of a shooting at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Two men, believed to be in their 30s, were involved in an altercation.
Coon said one of the men was shot in his left bicep and was expected to be released from the hospital after being treated. It was not immediately clear how the other man died or what led to the confrontation. Their names were not released.
One firearm was recovered and police planned to search the residence.
