A 23-year-old man who was given a five-year suspended sentence for tampering with evidence in a Kalispell murder case has been sentenced to serve that time in prison for violating his probation by leaving the state.
The Daily Inter Lake reports (http://bit.ly/VAwgUO ) District Judge Ted Lympus sentenced Joshua Fritz to prison during a Dec. 6 hearing and ordered him to pay back the $1,700 Flathead County spent to transport him back from Michigan, where Fritz went to visit family.
Fritz was one of five people charged after the April 2010 beating death of Wesley Collins of Kalispell. He pleaded guilty to disposing of Collins' phone and received a probationary sentence.
