Police in Billings say the body of a man has been found in Alkali Creek just east of Main Street.
Police responded to a call about 5 p.m. Saturday after a family of four walking along a bike path reported finding the body face down in the creek.
Yellowstone County Undersheriff Kevin Evans says the man has not been identified and the cause of death has yet to be determined.
He says police are treating the death a homicide for now and are working to gather more information.
Authorities say five homeless people were camped in the area that has been evacuated as part of the investigation.
