Man charged, assault with crow bar
Missoula Police responded to an incident in Bonner Sunday morning after a man allegedly broke into a house and assaulted the homeowner with a crow bar.
Police officials tell NBC Montana after the initial assault the suspect fled the scene on foot and while police were in the process of tracking the man with a K-9 unit they received a call from a residence in East Missoula that the suspect had turned up there.
Police tell us the alleged victim also arrived at the East Missoula residence and that's when a second assault occurred, this time with a knife.
“There were some family relationships and some issues there,” said Sergeant Collin Rose of the Missoula Police Department. “However, generally speaking keep your doors locked and be watchful.”
Police tell us the victim only suffered minor injuries; the suspect is facing two counts of assault with a weapon and aggravated burglary.
