KALISPELL, Mont. -

Montana Highway Patrol troopers say a Kila man was allegedly drunk when he crashed a sports car into an Evergreen-area home on Wednesday. Troopers say it appears Steven Peterson pulled out of a driveway, drove off and lost control of the vehicle before crashing into the home.

Witnesses say the vehicle is a Shelby Cobra kit car, estimated to be worth roughly $40,000. The car appeared to be totaled at the scene.

One witness says Peterson refused medical assistance, and he was later arrested for alleged drunk driving.

“I was in my bathroom doing my nails,” said Kalispell resident Alli Neumann. “All of the sudden, I hear this loud noise of a car coming through and then I hear this loud boom and it shakes the entire bathroom, the whole house, and then I go and check on my sisters and they’re all freaked out.”
