MISSOULA, Mont. -

In early January NBC Montana told you about a major appliance dealer from Washington that planned to set up shop in Missoula.

Now Fred’s Appliance has officially moved to Missoula and will be opening its doors for business Monday April 15.

Monday afternoon NBC Montana met with Fred’s Appliance store manager Doug Standley who tells us he’s very excited for the grand opening and to see Fred’s settle into the Missoula valley.

Standley tells us this will be the first Fred's Appliance in Montana.  He says they've hired 14 employees so far but still have a few warehouse and delivery driver positions to fill.

We also asked how he felt about appliance dealer Vann's closing its Missoula and Hamilton doors.

“For me it's a sad day that Vann's has announced that they are where they are,” said Standley.  “But at the same time we have a job to do here and obviously we just want to make sure that the customers have a great experience with our brand.”

Right now Fred’s has seven stores in northern Idaho and Washington and Standley tells NBC Montana the plan is to open another location in Kalispell within the next few months.
