Montana State University students are identifying, cataloguing and photographing a large collection of dinosaur fossils from the Carter County Museum in Ekalaka.
The Billings Gazette reports the students are also preparing fossils for new exhibits to fill a planned 10,000-square-foot addition.
Museum curator Nathan Carroll says there enough fossils to fill it up already. Plans call for four complete dinosaurs to go on display.
The work is part of a pilot project for a Montana State program called Student Community Outreach Projects.
It's intended to provide students with experience while helping communities with worthwhile projects.
A special event is planned this summer to bring together paleontologists working in the region to share what they have been discovering with local residents and visitors.
