Jury selection is under way in the trial of Billings man accused of fatally shooting his friend.
Jeffery Todd Guy says he acted in self-defense when he shot 44-year-old Scott Warren "Frog" Maxson at least a dozen times on March 20, 2011.
The Billings Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/WOCyVy ) Guy's attorneys are expected to argue that Maxson threatened Guy with a sword after the longtime friends argued over Guy's past work as a drug informant.
The 44-year-old Guy is charged with deliberate homicide and felony tampering. Prosecutors say Guy dragged Maxson's body out of his home and threw the shell casings into a fire.
Jury selection in the case began Tuesday and is expected to continue on Wednesday, followed by opening statements when the panel is selected.
