MISSOULA, Mont. -

Move to Amend supporters rallied on the steps of the federal courthouse Monday in Missoula. Missoula Move to Amend is a local representation of a national movement.

All over the country, Move to Amend supporters advocate for an amendment to the constitution that would no longer recognize corporations as people.

Today was the three-year mark for a Supreme Court ruling in the case of Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, which gave corporations constitutional rights as people.

On the November ballot, Montanans passed a statewide measure (I-161) to make politicians and lawmakers punishable if they give corporations the same right as a person in the court of law.

The local group organized a rally on the federal courthouse steps in Missoula to celebrate the passing of this measure in Montana. They also spoke about the continuing efforts of the organization in other states and on a national level.
