A woman whose disappearance in December sparked a widespread search is charged with criminal endangerment after her young children were left unattended overnight in her apartment at the Helena YWCA.
22-year-old Angelica Melody Gray appeared via video in Justice Court on Friday. She has been jailed since her arrest in late December on charges that she violated her probation in an earlier drug case by leaving her children. She denied the probation violation last Wednesday.
Prosecutors say the search for Gray began early on Dec. 12 when other residents of the YWCA awakened to her 9-month-old screaming and crying and her 2-year-old knocking on the locked apartment door from the inside.
A search for Gray determined she left the state. She was arrested in California.
