Helena High student charged with rape
LEWIS AND CLARK COUNTY
A Helena High School student is charged with raping a 15-year-old girl in a school hallway on Valentine's Day.
18-year-old William R. Biggs appeared in Justice Court Tuesday on a charge of sexual intercourse without consent.
Prosecutors say the alleged rape took place in the school's "art hallway" between 3:30 and 4 p.m. on Feb. 14.
Court records say Biggs told a detective that he did something stupid and regretted it and that he had apologized to the girl.
Biggs posted a $50,000 bond. Justice of the Peace Mike Swingley told him to stay away from any place where children 16 and under congregate and to obtain a mental health evaluation.
Principal Steve Thennis says the school will determine any discipline after reviewing the police report.
