MISSOULA, Mont. -

Jordan Johnson pleaded not guilty to rape. After arriving at the Missoula County Detention Center he was booked and fingerprinted and then released.

Judge Karen Townsend approved a request for Johnson to travel to Eugene, Oregon, which is where his parents live, before the start of the fall semester at the Universtiy of Montana.

His attorney has filed a motion to dismiss the case and is asking for prosecutors to hand over dozens of text messages traded between students and U of M administrators involved in the investigation.

Johnson offered no comment as he left the court.

According to the charging affidavit from the County Attorney's Office, Johnson raped a friend at her house while her roommate played a video game and another slept.

The starting Griz quarterback has been under investigation for several months. It all started when the alleged victim filed a temporary restraining order against Johnson in March.
