GLASGOW, Mont. -

A Glasgow High school student is recovering from a shop class accident that left him with a skull fracture.
Craig Herbert says his son, Lane, was working on an engine when the fan, spinning at full speed, disconnected from the engine block and struck him above the left eye.
Lane was airlifted to Billings Clinic, where he underwent surgery Friday night.
Lane slept much of the day Saturday, but Craig Herbert said he knew his son was going to be OK on Saturday night as he listened to the Glasgow High football game in the intensive care unit. Lane, the team's quarterback, guessed play after play and understood exactly what was happening on the field.
He was released from the hospital on Monday.
