Low gas prices
BOZEMAN, Mont. -

A month ago here in Montana we saw prices up to $3.50 per gallon and currently the average price for a gallon of gasoline is 3.06.

Analysts say 24 percent of gas stations are selling gas for under $3. People around town are filling up.

"Glad they're below $3.  When they were higher I couldn't get to work," explained a resident.

Another Bozeman resident said, "It's good for everybody and it's good for the economy."

NBC Montana spoke to Patrick DeHaan, a senior petroleum analyst for Gasbuddy.com. We asked  him why gas prices were dropping in south-central and western Montana.

DeHaan said the decline is due to cheaper sources of Canadian crude oil and prices are lower than the national average. He predicts we should see relief at the pump for a longer period of time.
