MISSOULA, Mont. -

The University of Montana is hosting free tax preparation sessions through a federal program called VITA.

Eligible participants must make under $50,000 year.

Qualified University of Montana volunteers help provide the assistance.

"You get to help students learn how to do their taxes, and put their classroom knowledge to the test,” said Sonia Hansen, VITA volunteer coordinator. “And it's free, so it's easier on the checkbook that way a little bit."

The program runs on Saturdays for the next four weeks. For more information, click here.
