A 25-year-old Forsyth man has been sentenced for causing the deaths of three passengers in a crash last year.
Rosebud County District Judge Gary Day sentenced Matthew Scott Bustle Tuesday to 35 years in the custody of the Montana Department of Corrections, with 25 years suspended.
Bustle previously pleaded guilty to three counts of negligent homicide. Authorities say he drove around warning signs and large equipment and went off the road last December at the site of a washed-out bridge near Rosebud.
The Billings Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/XFiBBL ) the judge ordered Bustle to pay nearly $40,000 in restitution to the families of 21-year-old Kiever Rogers, 19-year-old Lance Nass and 20-year-old Christopher Gulden.
Bustle has admitted he used alcohol and marijuana and the judge recommended he participate in treatment and rehabilitation programs.
