Former Kalispell mayor and former state lawmaker Bill Boharski has died following an accident on a wheelchair lift at a medical office. He was 51.
The Flathead County sheriff's office said Boharski was using a wheelchair lift Thursday when his chair tipped over backward and he fell out, striking his head on the floor and wall. He was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
The sheriff's office and Kalispell police are investigating the fall.
Boharski served one term as Kalispell mayor from 1998 to 2001. Before that, he served five terms in the Montana House of Representatives.
Boharski had worked as a mechanical engineer at Semitool.
