BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Firefighters are investigating the cause of a brush fire off of Kelly Canyon Road, just east of town in Bozeman.

Fort Ellis Fire Incident Commander Fred Cady says they got the call at around 3:40p Saturday afternoon.

He says the fire chewed through close to three acres, fueled by winds and dry conditions.

It took firefighters around 40 minutes to get the fire under control.

Ft. Ellis called in a helicopter for a bucket drop. Bozeman, Central Valley and Rae & Sourdough Fire all responded to the blaze.

Cady says this fire was one of three brush fires in the Gallatin Valley, Saturday. As the snow continues to melt and folks begin controlled burns, he cautions people to pay attention to the weather and take precautions.
