Fish, Wildlife and Parks is actively seeking comments from all Montana county commissioners and Indian tribal leaders, about how they should handle wolves that prey on livestock.
Gallatin County commissioners say they're ahead of the curve, since they've been asking for public input on the wolf issue for months.
Commissioner Steve White says he's happy to see this latest effort by FWP to check in with folks on the ground.
"It was a good change in Montana's law in 2011 to add some statute that would open the door to discussion with the local governments," White said. "And that's really what this latest draft that was sent out involves."
County commissioners and tribal leaders can comment on the draft through September 21.
