Police in the eastern Idaho city of Idaho Falls are investigating a recent spate of armed robberies.
The latest happened early Tuesday morning, when a suspect brandishing a handgun robbed the Maverik Country Store.
On Sunday, someone wearing a ski mask robbed a Subway restaurant, and on Dec. 22 a male suspect robbed a Philips 66 store.
On Dec. 12, another convenience store was robbed by a suspect with a gun. Prosecutors have charged 19-year-old Idaho Falls resident Michael John Maggio in connection with that robbery.
Police spokeswoman Joelyn Hansen says it's not unusual to see an increase in robberies around the holidays. She says at this point police don't think the crimes are connected, but they're still investigating.
