Community Infill Partners are looking to develop an apartment and condo complex on East Second Street, near the intersection of Armory Road. Plans show the construction of 164 apartments and 9 condos on the almost 24 acre property.
The developers are also asking the planning board to change the zoning of the area from one family to two family, and from an agricultural district to an estate residential district. One resident said if the project gets approval from the city, he'll have to move out of the home he's renting. His home is on property included in the project.
"I knew it was coming," said Duane, who rents right next to the open field. "That's the thing. I've known for years this was going to be developed. Now's the time it's happening. Nobody wants it. I mean there's all kinds of issues with traffic and it just doesn't fit with the neighborhood."
We'll keep you updated on this developing story.
