Congressman-elect Steve Daines says he has been named to three House committees.
Daines is a Bozeman businessman who will take office in January after beating Democrat Kim Gillan in last month's election.
Daines says he was appointed by Republican leaders to serve on the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources, the House Committee on Transportation and the House Committee on Homeland Security.
Daines says the roles will allow him to pursue energy development and more job growth. He says he hopes to remove barriers to developing natural resources in Montana and across the country.
