A 20-year-old Columbia Falls man who injured a 14-month-old girl has been given a five-year suspended sentence.
The Daily Inter Lake reports (http://bit.ly/Zj5MMf) that Nickolas Fox was sentenced earlier this month in Flathead District Court after pleading guilty to felony assault on a minor.
The girl's mother and Fox's girlfriend, Samantha French, in October was sentenced to five years in prison after she told authorities she injured her daughter by grabbing "her face really hard."
The girl suffered retinal hemorrhaging and bleeding on the brain. French gave up her parental rights and the girl has been adopted.
Authorities obtained an email exchange between French and Fox in which Fox stated he smacked the child and felt bad afterward.
