Law enforcement officers in Butte are searching for a man who shot a woman three times during a robbery attempt at a taxi service office.
Capt. Doug Conway says the man fired four rounds Thursday night and hit the woman three times. Sheriff Ed Lester says the 23-year-old woman was in stable condition at St. James Healthcare with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers say a man wearing a hard hat, a scarf over his face and a camouflaged jacket entered Mining City Taxi at about 7:20 p.m. with a revolver and demanded money. The woman fled to an adjoining room and then outside and was shot as she ran away.
The Montana Standard reports (http://bit.ly/W50YKt) the suspect is described as about 5 feet, 4 inches tall or shorter with a medium build.
