A Butte man made CNN's list of top 10 heroes for 2012.
Leo McCarthy was honored for founding the drunk diving prevention program Mariah's Challenge.
A drunk driver killed McCarthy's daughter Mariah in 2007.
The nonprofit challenges kids and teens to avoid drinking and never ride with some one who has been drinking. It also provides scholarships to students in the program.
McCarthy won $50,000 for making the top 10.
He and the other finalists will be honored at live event on December 2. At the event one of the 10 finalist will be named CNN's "Hero of the Year."
