ALBERTON, Mont. -

Authorities say an angler found a decomposed body in the Alberton Gorge of the Clark Fork River about a mile upstream from the Triple Bridges on Interstate 90.

Mineral County Sheriff's Deputy Joseph Bettis says the body is that of a male and has been there for some time. The body was found Monday afternoon has been sent to the state crime laboratory in Missoula for identification. Bettis says he is not aware of anyone missing from the area and he is checking with authorities in Missoula about missing persons there.

The body of a 19-year-old male who disappeared after jumping off a footbridge in Missoula in May has not been located.
