A Big Sky man cited for illegally feeding bears and other wildlife has pleaded guilty to unlawful supplemental feeding and fined $285.
The Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks says Warden Brian Lloyd warned Monroe Cameron against feeding wildlife two years ago, but officials said he continued to attract bears and other wildlife to his property with large bowls of dog food, birdfeeders, and buckets of berries.
Another warden confirmed Cameron's activities early last fall and documented the bears' frequent visits. Cameron was cited in September. He pleaded guilty this week in Madison County Justice Court.
Seven black bears were captured and euthanized in northwestern Montana last fall because a man was feeding them, drawing them into a residential area and putting neighbors at risk.
