Bail is set at $100,000 for a 22-year-old Livingston man charged with shooting a woman twice outside Taco Bell in Bozeman.
Nathaniel John Budd appeared in Justice Court Monday morning via video feed from the Gallatin County jail for an initial appearance on two counts of attempted deliberate homicide. Defense attorney Eric Brewer told Judge Bryan Adams he instructed Budd not to answer any questions.
Budd was arrested early Saturday after police said he shot at a man and woman in a vehicle at the Gallatin Valley Mall. Court records say the woman suffered two bullet wounds after she and Budd reportedly argued.
Budd told police he believed the woman was brandishing a weapon.
The woman was treated at the hospital and released.
