MISSOULA, Mont. -- The Missoula Symphony had a visit from outer space tonight. A spaceman landed during the symphony's annual family concert.The symphony taught him what sounds each instrument makes, and many other interesting aspects of music. It made for an entertaining hour of education for youngsters.Three concerts today drew close to 3,500 people altogether. Students from all over Western Montana attended concerts earlier today, and families packed the University Theater on the University of Montana campus tonight.Symphony managers say the family concert has inspired children through music for about 20 years in Missoula.Out of this world artwork from the children, as well as spaceman cookies are featured at Bernices Bakery in Missoula right now to coincide with the concert.

The Supreme Court has sided with a power
company in a dispute with Montana over who owns the riverbeds
beneath 10 dams sitting on three Montana rivers.
Avalanche warnings are in effect for the
Bridger Range in southwestern Montana and the mountains of west
central Montana after heavy, wet snow fell on a weaker layer of
colder, lighter snow.
Missoula police brought guns and tasers to Hellgate High School Tuesday for a lesson on use of force. The presentation was part of the school’s Diversity Week.
