BUTTE, Mont -

Three men who police say shot pigeons and other birds in Butte with a pellet gun have been given misdemeanor citations for discharging a gun in the city.
Butte Undersheriff George Skuletich tells the Montana Standard (http://bit.ly/XKhVNz) that police responded Thursday and found the men in the area of Nevada and Platinum.
He says witnesses spotted the men shooting birds and a bystander took video.
Skuletich says the case has been turned over to Butte Animal Control.
He also says the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks could get involved because the men might have shot a raven.
