The father of former Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier, Mike Forcier, told KECI-TV's Zach Borg that his son has not been contacted by any coaches from the University of Montana regarding a possible transfer to Montana. He went on to say that neither he nor his son has visited the Missoula campus, and that Tate is only just beginning to consider his transfer options.

In a phone conversation Saturday afternoon Mike Forcier said that, while they are aware of Montana, he has no idea where rumors of his son transferring to the FCS school came from. He said that the school has been granted permission to contact his son.

Tate Forcier was formerly the starting quarterback at the University of Michigan. Starting as a true freshman in 2009, Forcier threw for 2,050 yards, 13 touchdowns, and ten interceptions. He led the Wolverines to a 5-7 record and was named to the All-Freshman Big Ten Team.

In 2010 he lost his starting job to Denard Robinson. He threw for 540 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions. After being declared ineligible for their bowl game, Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon announced the Forcier was no longer with the program on January 12. One week later Forcier announced his intent to transfer via his twitter site (http://twitter.com/#!/QBForce).

Rumors had been circulating that Forcier was going to transfer to Montana and that members of the family had visited the campus.
