HAMILTON, Mont. -- A lot of people took at least part of the day off to kick start the Ravalli County Fair in Hamilton. Call it tradition.It's an annual celebration of agriculture. It starts with a parade down Main Street.Most 4-H kids skip it. They're too busy getting their livestock ready for show.Victor Clover Club 4-H member Chris Jolley says, he wants a championship. He's expecting a blue ribbon at least. His steer's name is 401K.Nineteen-year-old Jolley has been planning and saving for a career in agriculture since he was nine. He says he wants to take over his parents 200 acre ranch. He's also leasing 120 acres for farmland.The family raises hay and cattle.Chris also won ribbons for his cooking talents. He also showed an oil painting he did.Jolley says, "our farm is on the original 200 acre homestead and I'd like to keep that family business going." The Victor High School graduate raises his arm in victory. He says "I'm ninth generation."
