Demonstrators Grind Waste Building Material For Reuse

Contractors say hauling off leftover building materials can be costly and wasteful.Today one Bozeman company, Resource Site Services, demonstrated the benefits of grinding construction materials instead.The company's mobile equipment grinds lumber, sheet rock, and roofing material into wood chips for landscaping.Contractors say taking materials to the dump can run between $150 to $200.Operations Manager Brian Popiel says to grind the same size pile of lumber costs around $125.Anders Lewendal Construction will use this process to build affordable energy efficient homes. The demonstration took place on the lot where the company will build its first affordable green house.
