The summer is officially over for students at Montana State University
The campus at MSU hummed with activity Monday morning as students headed to their early classes.
Freshman were wandering campus trying to figure out their schedules, while old friends were reuniting to catch up with each other.
Some students were nervous about the big day, but most were excited and ready to get back into serious studying and socializing.
"It's exciting, it's a little bit nerve-wracking just knowing everything that you have to do. It's a little bit overwhelming, but overall it's something to look forward to and it's just a good feeling to be back and get things going," said student Caitlin Spencer.
"It's bittersweet, because goodbye to freedom and all that but hello to learning pretty awesome things," said junior Emma Murter.
Monday was also the first day for the University of Montana and Montana Tech.
