1929: Puppeteer and TV producer Sid Krofft, best known for pairing with his younger brother, Marty Krofft, to produce children's television shows in the 1970s and '80s, is born Cydus Yolas in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Sid and Marty Krofft were best known for shows such as "H.R. Pufnstuf," "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters" and "Land of the Lost." Sid Krofft is seen here at right watching his brother speaking as they accept a Pop Culture award at the seventh annual TV Land Awards in Los Angeles on April 19, 2009.
