Barrett Tryon

Barrett Tryon

Barrett Tryon joined the NBC Montana team in October 2016.

He began his broadcasting career in the early 80s, although not many people saw those first newscasts live from his parents’ back porch in Sarasota, Fla.
Fast forward a few years, and Barrett attended college at Drake University in Des Moines, while also working for KCCI-TV. He would later work at CBS News and Fox News Channel, both in New York City, a brief stint in Los Angeles chasing around celebrities, followed by a few years in the Rockies at KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs.

He also worked at FOX4 in Kansas City as a technology reporter, 8 News Now in Las Vegas, and most recently a second stint in Colorado Springs for KKTV 11 News.

He was lucky enough to win an Emmy for “Best Newscast” and was voted “Best Twitterer” for 3 years in a row in Colorado Springs by readers of two separate newspapers, the Colorado Springs Independent and Colorado Springs Gazette.

When he’s not online, which is never, he’s probably chasing around his two pups, Cooper & Bentley, googling “Barrett Tryon,” or combing his hair.
