First Alert 48 Hour Forecast

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY until 9 am for the Butte and Anaconda areas along with Lolo, Lost Trail and MacDonald Passes where a trace up to 2 inches of snow are possible.

FLOOD WATCH for Gallatin County, including the Bozeman area, through Wednesday.  Melting mountain snow and rainfall from a half to one inch will bring rises in area rivers and streams.  Low land flooding is possible.

A strong cold front is moving across the region, bringing rain and mountain snow to western Montana.

As the front passes through the region tonight, snow levels will drop, especially around Butte and Bozeman where the rain will change to snow.  A mix of rain and snow will be possible elsewhere.  Snowfall of a trace up to 2 inches across southwest Montana.   Lows in the 30s with highs only in the 40s along with gusty winds on Wednesday.

A break from the precipitation during the day Wednesday.  However, showers developing by evening as another storm system impacts the region Wednesday night and Thursday.  In fact, unsettled weather is expected through the weekend with drier and warmer weather expected next week.
