Royals 12, Twins 6

MINNEAPOLIS -- A seven-run second inning powered Kansas City to a rain-delayed win over Minnesota.

After a 30-minute delay to start the game, much of the contest was played in a light rain. The Royals clobbered Twins left-hander Tommy Milone (6-4_ in the second, stringing together five hits, two walks and a hit batter in piling up all the offense they would need.

Alcides Escobar, Nori Aoki, Alex Gordon and Josh Willingham drove in two runs apiece for the Royals.
